School transport

The route from home to school, with the essential information in one place.

Municipal school transport supports eligible pupils travelling to the local school network. Routes, eligibility and applications can change between school years.

01

Before the school year

Confirm the current application procedure and whether a new request is required. Keep the pupil’s school placement and home address details ready.

  • Read the current notice
  • Check the assigned route and stop
  • Confirm collection times with the school
  • Report any address or school change
02

If something changes

Contact the municipality or school rather than assuming last year’s route still applies. Operational changes should always be confirmed through the official channel.

03

Who should confirm what

The family confirms the pupil’s address and school placement; the municipality and school confirm eligibility, the route, stop and operating times. If the pupil divides time between addresses, raise that before the route is finalised.

Do not rely on a route used by an older sibling or in a previous year. School placement, passenger numbers and road conditions can all change the plan.

04

During the school year

Keep the agreed stop clear and arrive before the scheduled time. Report a permanent address change promptly, and use the school or municipal contact for a repeated delay, missed stop or safeguarding concern.

  • Save the route contact
  • Explain collection arrangements to the pupil
  • Report changes in writing
  • Use 112 only for an immediate emergency
