Young people / Penela explained
Library, pool and Multiuse Pavilion
Three everyday places to read, meet, swim, train and find something new.

Penela’s municipal facilities support regular reading, culture, swimming and organised sport. Hours differ by facility and may change seasonally.
Use them during the week
The library and auditorium host reading and cultural activity. The pool and pavilion support lessons, clubs and public sport sessions according to the current schedule.
Check before leaving
Facility hours, holiday closures and programme access can change. Call the relevant facility to confirm current opening hours and availability.
Choose the right space
Use the library for reading, study, local information and cultural programming; the auditorium for scheduled performances and talks; the pool for swimming and lessons; and the Multiuse Pavilion for clubs, training and larger activities.
Public access is not identical to a building’s opening time. A rehearsal, class, competition or school booking can limit what is available, so confirm the specific activity rather than asking only whether the building is open.
Access and group visits
For a class, association or larger group, contact the facility ahead of time. Give the date, number of people, age range and any mobility or sensory-access needs so the team can confirm the appropriate entrance and supervision.
Make the spaces part of your week
Choose the facility around what you want to do: focused reading or study at the library, swimming at the pool, or organised training and larger activities at the Multiuse Pavilion. A regular weekly habit is usually more useful than treating these places as occasional attractions.
Before the first visit, confirm which sessions are open to the public, whether booking or registration is needed, supervision rules for younger visitors, any charge, the equipment to bring and the best entrance for an accessibility need.
